Myrna Molinari, LSCW, CAP
Myrna Molinari, LSCW, CAP received her M.S.W. a certification in Exceptional Education for the Severely Emotionally and Behaviorally Disturbed from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1999. She received her B.S. in Mental Health and Human Services from the University of Steubenville (1990).
Myrna worked in the Child Welfare system for 13 years with children who had experienced abuse, neglect and severe trauma. Then, in 2007, she accepted a position as the Clinical Programs Manager and then Director of Social Services for The Salvation Army of Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties in Florida. There she encountered many Veterans who were experiencing homelessness and struggling with the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). As an Accelerated Resolution Therapy trained clinician she was able to intervene effectively and help these Veterans return to healthy functioning, with no further intrusive memories, nor suffering further effects of their combat trauma.
In 2012, she accepted a position as a therapist at the West Palm Beach VA in the Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program and in 2014, was promoted to Supervisor in the Social Work Service. Myrna maintains her ancillary positions as the Former Prisoner of War Advocate, therapist for Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and complex trauma cases at the VA. Her passion is helping Veterans heal from the wounds of war. To that end, she continues to pursue specialized training in PTSD, MST, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and chronic pain issues to maintain her expertise in these areas.
She is a trainer for Accelerated Resolution Therapy and has trained the military’s mental health personnel at Ft. Belvoir in this form of trauma therapy, from the Basics through Advanced and Enhanced therapeutic techniques. She is a board member for Beauty From Ashes Ministries which addresses Human Trafficking and is a Behavioral Consultant for the Lone Survivor Foundation, an organization dedicated to offering education on PTSD, TBI and Chronic Pain issues to active duty, Veterans and their family members. Myrna maintains a private practice in West Palm Beach, Florida.
