Jaxon Browne | Jaxon

Breed: American Clydesdale
Color: Bay
Birth Date: November 1, 2006
Size: 17 H
Donated by: Pam Roush
Arrival Date: June 24, 2017

Jaxon Browne is as handsome and talented as his musician namesake! Before coming to Quantum this gentle and lovable Clydesdale was rescued from a kill-pen in Pennsylvania. Thank goodness – he found purpose here at Quantum and has been a great addition to our herd! Unfortunately though, this year Jaxon was diagnosed with a disease called equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM). Because EPM affects his nervous system, and can cause permanent damage, Jax is not involved in riding at this time. He’s currently under (veterinary) medical care and requires expensive medication, just like many of the people he works with here at Quantum. Of course, this makes Jax very relatable to participants who suffer from brain injury and other conditions affecting their neurological function. In spite of his medical condition, Jaxon enjoys tons of “family support” here at Quantum: he loves being fed bananas, being groomed, and mostly he loves the affection of his favorite barn manager Cami!
