Memorial Day Observance, Saturday, May 26
QLF will be closed to riders on Memorial Day. Volunteers will still be needed for horse care and stable management.
Hyde Park Live Music Series, Wednesday, May 30, 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Once again, Quantum Leap Farm has been chosen as a designated charity for the Tampa Hyde Park Village Live Music Series. Admission and parking are free and beverage sales benefit Quantum Leap Farm. Fun Day for Families affected by Childhood Cancer, Sunday, June 3, noon to 4:00 p.m.
Quantum Leap Farm welcomes pediatric cancer patients, pediatric cancer survivors and their family members for an afternoon of fun at the Farm including pony rides, pony painting, equestrian arts and crafts, games and more! This is an extension of Quantum Leap Farm's new equine therapy program, in partnership with 1Voice, "MaKayla's Hands on Horses." Support Group for Siblings of Children with Cancer, Tuesday, June 5, 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
Pediatric Cancer affects the whole family and often siblings can feel overwhelmed and isolated when dealing with the illness of their loved one. If you have a child who is dealing with the illness of a sibling with cancer and could use the support of others going through the same situation, and enjoys the great outdoors and animals then please join us on the 1st Tuesday of the month from 4:30-6:00pm for Quantum Leap Farm’s At EASE Sibling Support Group. Our fun, interactive support group involves specifically designed activities with horses facilitated by a trained Therapist and an Equine Specialist. Contact us to find out more about participating in this special program for siblings of children with cancer or siblings of pediatric cancer survivors.
Military Family Fun Day, Saturday, June 23, noon to 4:00 p.m.
Quantum Leap Farm hosts quarterly fun days for military service members and their families. At our beautiful facility in northwest Hillsborough County, military families enjoy a fun filled day that includes lunch, pony rides for the kids, hay rides, pony painting and equine arts and crafts. Quantum Leap Farm Co-Sponsors Course on the Business of Hippotherapy, Saturday and Sunday, July 28 & 29
Learn more about establishing and running a Hippotherapy practice from two experts in the field who'll show you every aspect of the business through this AHA Inc. Business Aspects of Hippotherapy course. This is a wonderful two day course offering Physical and Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Program Administrators and other interested participants the basics on how to start or enhance a Private Practice which incorporates Hippotherapy as a treatment strategy. It will teach you how to grow your community by adding hippotherapy--a wonderful addition and alternative to traditional therapies for people of all ages. This is a rare chance to learn from the founder of AHA here in the states, Terri Barnes. Her co-presentor is Becky Lundeen of Nature's Edge Therapy Center, Inc. in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. SEPTEMBER
Level 1 Hippotherapy Course offered September 6 through 9 at Quantum Leap Farm
Join us for an American Hippotherapy Association, Inc., Approved Level 1 Equine Skills and Treatment Principles course. This Level 1 course is for physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and assistances. In fact, anyone interested in becoming involved in Hippotherapy, or who is already active in a program and would like to become more advanced in the field, are welcome. NOVEMBER
12th Annual Quantum Leap Farm Charity Golf Tournament, Friday, November 2, 2012
Join your friends, whether they’re accomplished golfers or accomplished duffers, for a day of fun and golf at the 11th Annual Quantum Leap Farm Charity Golf Tournament at beautiful Feather Sound Country Club in Clearwater. The day will begin with registration at 11:00AM followed by a 12:30PM shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded for Team Low Gross Score, Team Low Net Score, Hole-In-One, Putting Contest, Men’s and Ladies’ Longest Drives and Closest to the Pin. The tournament will finish up with a delicious buffet style awards dinner featuring awards and door prizes, raffle drawings, and both live and silent auctions focusing on a wide variety of sports memorabilia. QLF Holiday Bash, Saturday, December 1, 5:30 to 10:00 p.m.
Volunteers, participants and donors are welcome to Quantum Leap Farm's annual Holiday Bash. You'll receive an invitation from Quantum Leap asking you to join us for live music, hayrides, a bonfire, a scavenger hunt and lots of fun other activities for the whole family. This is always a great time of year to share your passion and support for Quantum Leap Farm's mission with others who feel the same way and to enjoy beautiful Quantum Leap Farm under the stars.
