Quantum Leap Farm is able to provide services to our clients in great part due toRider and Volunteers

the benevolence of our dedicated volunteers. Last year, volunteers logged in 7,000 hours serving participants of our non-profit therapeutic and recreational equestrian facility. As a volunteer you will help enrich and enhance the lives of injured or disabled adults by engaging them in a variety of equestrian activities designed to promote and improve physical, mental and social well being.

By volunteering at Quantum Leap Farm, you can give back to your community, have fun, and make new friends!  Help our amazing clients discover, explore and regain their abilities as they grow in a therapeutic relationship with one of our kind and gentle equine therapists.  Horse experience is not necessary.  Come as an individual, accumulate community service hours, and/or bring your school, club, corporate, or church group for a community service project.  We offer a variety of activities and projects to choose from.

A Few Things to Know:

Insurance requirements mandate that QLF volunteers be 16 years of age or older.  All volunteers must read and sign our liability release prior to beginning work, and minors (16 and 17 years old) must also have their legal guardian sign the release.

We at Quantum Leap Farm respect the right of confidentiality for all our clients and volunteers.  Our staff, volunteers, board members, and anyone else providing services to Quantum Leap Farm must agree to keep confidential all medical, social, referral, personal, and financial information regarding a client or another volunteer and his or her family.

Mileage accumulated traveling to and from Quantum Leap Farm is tax deductible.

Volunteers should dress comfortably and plan to be outside in the sun for at least part of the time.  Snacks and drinks, weather appropriate clothing, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and insect repellent are advised and will make working outside more enjoyable.  Comfortable, closed-toed sturdy shoes are a must. Please remember to take home all personal items you bring along!

In addition to therapeutic riding lessons, we offer recreational riding or driving (horse & cart) lessons to volunteers and the general public for $50.00 per session.  Sessions are up to 50 minutes duration.  Driving lessons are available for students who may be interested in expanding their equestrian skills.

Please call Quantum Leap Farm at (813) 920-9250, or submit a web form for more information on becoming a volunteer.
