Edie Ebbert Dopking, PhD
President and Founder

Quantum Leap Farm President and Founder, Dr. Edie Dopking, is a former for-profit business owner and a graduate of the University of South Florida’s Aging Studies PhD Program. Edie also has a medical and an equestrian background; she worked in the field of diagnostic medical imaging for 15 years and has been an equestrian for over 30 years.

Edie’s professional background includes an Associate of Science Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. A medical imaging technologist for seven years, Edie gained extensive experience working with patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury and various other acquired physical disabilities, neurodegenerative diseases or orthopedic conditions. In 1988 Edie transitioned to marketing for St. Anthony’s Hospital MRI Center and in 1990 co-founded Access Imaging Center, Inc. There she performed marketing and management duties as well as technical work until she and her partners sold the business in 1996, after which Edie returned to school to pursue her PhD.

In addition to her Associates Degree in Nuclear Medicine, Edie also earned a Bachelors Degree in Human Development from Eckerd College. She was one of very few Baccalaureate students accepted into USF’s PhD in Aging Studies Program. While in the program, Edie was awarded membership in Phi Kappa National Honor Society for graduate students ranking in the top tenth percentile nationwide. Edie’s area of research interest and expertise includes aging with a disability, exercise physiology and aging, fitness and functional mobility, successful aging, and aging and recreation. Additionally, Edie holds a Certificate in Non-Profit Management and is certified to instruct horseback riding lessons in both English and Western disciplines by the Certified Horsemanship Association.

Edie has an extensive equestrian background including ownership, riding instruction, and competing in hunter/jumper, dressage and combined training events locally and around Florida. Prior to founding Quantum Leap Farm’s therapeutic riding program, Edie operated a private boarding/training facility from her farm in Odessa for almost nine years. Edie’s past volunteer experiences include Countryside Elementary School’s mentor program, Paint Your Heart Out Tampa, the Lutz Senior Center’s day program for senior citizens, and Bakas Equestrian Center’s therapeutic riding program for children with disabilities. In 2002, Edie was awarded “Volunteer of the Year” in the Category of Health and Health Education by the United Way of Tampa Bay, the Volunteer Center and Pinellas Cares.


Roberta Skinner
Vice President

Quantum Leap Farm Vice President Roberta Skinner, brings over 20 years of experience within the Tampa Bay business community. Roberta’s business expertise is extensive and encompasses finance, accounting, sales and marketing.

Her relationship within the business community benefits Quantum Leap in the areas of fundraising, strategic planning, recruiting and retaining volunteers as well as students. In addition to Roberta’s involvement with the various aspects of conducting the daily business at Quantum Leap, she also serves as an instructor.



Mary Diana
Corporate Secretary

Mary Diana’s name might be familiar to listeners of WUSF-FM. She served our local National Public Radio affiliate for 25 years as Classical Music Director. Throughout those 25 years she also acquired a deep knowledge of the nonprofit world, fundraising and donor development. While in music, Mary maintained her deep love of horses; riding at Sandhill Farm in Zephyrhills. When the opportunity arose to serve at Quantum Leap, Mary jumped at it.



Lisa Reedy
CFO

Bringing with her a BS degree in Accounting from The University of Tampa, Lisa Reedy provides valuable financial knowledge to Quantum Leap Farm. Her experience includes 10 years in accounting and 6 years as a Financial Services/Strategic Consultant with two years as the National Practice Manager of a Strategic Consulting Services Group. She is also a KPMG alum and has been an equestrian for over 20 years.
